Henry County Sheriff’s Office

Gerald R. Smith, 50, of Hamler was northbound on State Route 109 in Marion Township Monday at 3:27 p.m. and attempted to turn east onto County Road G. Another northbound vehicle on Rte. 109 operated by Andrew J. Hermiller, 17, of Malinta was behind Smith’s vehicle, failed to slow in time and struck Smith’s truck on the back right side of the trailer. Hermiller suffered minor injuries. Smith and a passenger in Hermiller’s vehicle, Christopher JC Cody, 18, of Malinta were uninjured. Hermiller’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. No damage was reported to Smith’s vehicle.

Christmas decorations were reported damaged at 101 N. Damascus St. in Liberty Center Monday at 2:05 a.m.
- maybe the strand of lights just quit working. that happens you know. rampant paranoia continues.

A 9-1-1 hang-up was received from S799 County Road 1D in Liberty Township Monday at 7:24 a.m. Deputies advised all was okay at the residence.


A bicycle was found on County Road U4 near County Road 3 in Washington Township at 3:21 p.m. Monday.
- that's kinda creepy. is there any concern for the person who may have been riding it in the middle of nowhere?

Napoleon Police Department

A subject at 120 E. Maumee Ave. reported telephone harassment at 9:26 p.m. Sunday.

A disabled vehicle was reported in the 500 block of North Perry Street Sunday at 10:15 p.m. An officer advised the vehicle was out of gas.
- this is right by the old PETRO PANTRY and the Marathon. if either place still sold gas, this would not have been a problem.

An accident was reported on Reynolds Street at 10:34 p.m. Sunday. No other information was available. An accident was reported on Hobson Street near East Riverview Avenue Monday at 12:32 p.m. No other information was available.

A domestic dispute was reported in the 200 block of West Washington Street Sunday at 11:27 p.m.

A driving complaint was was filed Monday at 2:11 p.m. on West Maumee Avenue near South Perry Street for a semi attempting to turn down the street in that area.

A subject at 308 Appian Ave. reported criminal trespassing Monday at 3:33 p.m.

David Winnie, 41, of Cecil was arrested Monday at 4:52 p.m. at 524 N. Perry St. on a warrant out of Defiance County. He was turned over to Defiance County authorities.

A subject on Garden Street reported Monday at 5:13 p.m. a vehicle with a flat tire and broken windshield had been parked in the same spot for a week. An officer checked the vehicle and advised all was okay.
- okay WTF does that mean, "all was okay" -- was the tire not actually flat and the windshield not actually broken? was it not parked in the same spot for a week? is that not illegal? who writes this shit?

An alarm was reported at 219 E. Washington St. Monday at 5:59 p.m. An officer advised it was due to subscriber error.

There were no admissions, births or discharges to report Monday.
