Henry County Sheriff’s Office
Hossein A. Nehmeh, 28, of Maumee was eastbound on County Road D near County Road 12 in Marion Township at 2:52 p.m. Friday when he swerved to avoid striking a deer. Nehmeh’s truck traveled off the south side of the road, reentered the roadway and traveled off the north side of the road. Nehmeh attempted to reenter the road again, lost control and his truck overturned on its side, coming to rest on the roadway. Nehmeh suffered serious injuries and was transported to Defiance Mercy Medical Center by Henry County Medic 1. His vehicle sustained disabling damage. Nehmeh was cited for failure to control. Also assisting at the scene was Hamler Fire Department and Holgate EMS.
Tracy L. Whetstone, 46, of Defiance was westbound on State Route 18 in Flatrock Township at 1:48 a.m. Saturday when she advised she swerved to miss a deer and drove off the north side of the road. Whetstone struck a mailbox, decorative fence and utility box. Whetstone was uninjured and was cited for failure to control.
- i'm not saying she DIDN'T swerve to miss a deer, but I always wonder if people ever lie about seeing animals when the cops ask them why they drove off the road
A disabled vehicle on County Road P near U.S. Route 6 in Napoleon Township was reported Saturday at 12:03 a.m. Deputies advised the vehicle was out of gas.
Deputies were sent to keep the peace in a civil matter Saturday at 3:58 a.m. in the 200 block of South East Street in McClure.
An alarm was reported at Dollar General in Holgate Saturday at 3:58 a.m. Deputies advised all was okay.
Deputies are investigating a breaking and entering reported by an employee at Justop Carryout in Hamler Saturday at 8:21 a.m.
An accident was reported on Township Road Q1 in Napoleon Township at 12:09 p.m. Saturday. No other information was available.

Unwanted phone calls were reported by a subject at 11085 County Road P in Harrison Township Saturday at 4:18 p.m. Unwanted phone calls were reported by a subject at 465 S. East St. in McClure Sunday at 3:25 p.m.
A car/deer accident was reported on County Road L near Henry Street in Monroe Township at 6:16 p.m. Saturday. A car struck a deer Sunday at 6:15 p.m. on Fisher Street in Napoleon Township. A car struck a deer on State Route 108 near County Road L in Napoleon Township Sunday at 6:21 p.m. No other information was available in these incidents.
Nicole L. Wenner, 24, of Hamler was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired Sunday at 2:02 a.m. following a traffic stop at Clubhouse Pizza.
A loud music complaint was filed at 4061 County Road 18 in Pleasant Township Sunday at 3:54 a.m. Deputies advised the complaint was unfounded and all was okay.
A domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend was reported at 4:22 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South First Street in Hamler. A dispute between a boyfriend and a girlfriend was reported on State Route 65 in Damascus Township Saturday at 11:23 p.m.
A subject at 270 N. First St. in Hamler reported criminal mischief for damage to a mailbox at 4:51 a.m. Sunday. A mailbox was also reported damaged at 7429 Township Road K2 in Monroe Township at 9:44 a.m. Sunday.
Windows were reported broken at 102 S. Henry St. in Malinta Sunday at 2:41 p.m.
A verbal dispute was reported on Township Road 13 in Freedom Township Sunday at 6:11 p.m.

Corey J. Thurman, 25, of Grand Rapids was served a warrant Friday at 9:46 p.m. at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio for failute to appear in Napoleon Municipal Court.
An alarm was reported at Rent-A-Center Friday at 10:06 p.m. Officers advised all was okay.
Disorderly conduct was reported by a subject at 220 Thomas Ave. Friday at 10:59 p.m.
A driving complaint for an intoxicated driver was reported by a subject at 2250 Scott St. Saturday at 12:06 a.m. An officer located the vehicle at a residence, but no one was around.
A domestic dispute was reported in the 800 block of West Graceway Drive Saturday at 12:47 a.m.
Joshua Marcum, 21, of Napoleon was charged with littering following a traffic stop on Devonshire Drive Saturday at 2:32 a.m.

A disabled vehicle was reported on West Clinton Street near Scott Street Sunday at 2:08 a.m.
A van was reported running for a couple hours in the parking lot at River City Bowl-A-Way Sunday at 8:07 a.m. Brock Carter, 21, of Napoleon was arrested for driving under the influence in the incident.
