Napoleon Police Department

Megan E. Markley, 16, of Napoleon was traveling in the 1300 block of Scott Street when she began to slow down due to traffic. An unknown vehicle struck Markley’s vehicle in the rear and left the area without reporting the accident. Markley was uninjured and damage to her vehicle was minor.

Tondra S. Rausch, 62, of Columbus was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence following an acident in the Lutheran Home parking lot Friday at 6:30 p.m. Rausch was traveling north on South Perry Street and turned right into the Lutheran Home. Rausch failed to negotiate the turn and struck a sign on the Lutheran Home’s property. She proceeded east on access drive, left the road to the south and struck a “no trucks” sign. She then proceeded east, turned north into a parking area and struck a tree. Rausch suffered minor injuries and her vehicle sustained disabling damage.

Benjamin J. Hewett, 50, of Mitchell, Ga. was backing into a parking spot at Travel Centers of America truckstop when his trailer struck the front of a semi operated by Wendell S. Young, 47, of El Reno, Okla. No injuries were reported. Young’s vehicle sustained no damage while damage to Hewett’s was minor.


A disabled vehicle was reported on Glenwood Avenue near U.S. Route 24 Monday at 12:04 a.m.

A subject at 820 Sheffield Ave. reported the theft of cash Monday at 12:37 a.m.

A suspicious person was reported pounding on windows at a residence at 415 Fair St. Monday at 4:26 a.m. Officers were unable to locate.

 - maybe he was inside the house.
 
Suspicious juveniles were reported in the alley near 613 N. Perry St. Monday at 6:42 a.m. Officers were unable to locate. A suspicious person was reported by a subject on Devonshire Drive at 3:59 p.m. Monday.

Solicitors were reported in the 1000 block of Westchester Avenue at 5:42 a.m. Monday. Officers were unable to locate.

Cheryl Mortemore, 30, of Napoleon was arrested at Burger King in Napoleon Sunday at 8:32 p.m. on a warrant out of VanWert County.
- once she took off her burger king crown, they knew exactly who she was.


A subject at 451 Randolph St. in Holgate reported their vehicle was being used without permission Monday at 1:04 a.m.

A drive-off theft of gasoline was reported by an employee at 10-K Korner Mart in Deshler at 6:40 a.m. Monday.

Trash was reported dumped on County Road V near County Road 21 in Ridgeville Township Monday at 9:59 a.m.

Items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at 415 Kaufman St. in Holgate at 5:38 p.m. Monday.

There were no admissions, births or discharges to report Monday.
