Napoleon Police Department

Officers are investigating a sex offense which was reported in the city Wednesday at 9:45 a.m.

Disconduct was reported in the 800 block of Sheffield Avenue at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.

- Oh no someone was disbehaving

A driving complaint regarding a subject running a stop sign was reported Wednesday at 4:34 p.m.
 
- Seriously, someone called the cops after seeing someone run a stop sign. I'm sure that person has a lot of friends.

Menacing was reported at 3:23 p.m. Wednesday at 225 Shelby Ave.

Henry County Sheriff’s Office

Erik W. Syllaba, 20, of Defiance was northbound on County Road 19 in Napoleon Township at 7:49 p.m. Tuesday when he struck a deer. Syllaba was uninjured and his vehicle sustained minor damage. David A. Newell, 53, of Continental was northbound on State Route 108 in Flatrock Township Wednesday at 6:35 a.m. when he struck a deer. Newell was uninjured, but his vehicle sustained disabling damage.

Michael J. Breckler, 21, of Defiance was cited for failure to control Wednesday at 5:44 a.m. when, as he was traveling northbound on County Road 24 in Ridgeville Township, he went off the west side of the roadway, over corrected, spun around and slid off the east side of the roadway with the vehicle rolling on its side. He noted he had fallen asleep at the wheel while driving. Breckler suffered minor injuries, but damage to his vehicle was severe.

- I guess that's better than falling asleep in the back seat while driving.

An unwanted subject was reported at 740 Railway Ave. in Holgate at 7:01 p.m. Tuesday.

- There's a self esteem booster

A suspicious person was reported at the Patriot Kwik Stop in Malinta Tuesday at 9 p.m. A deputy reported the subject was outside the carryout and all was okay.


Karen Herrera, 39, of Napoleon was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence following a traffic stop on Scott Street in Napoleon Tuesday at 11:13 p.m.

Deputies are investigating a breaking and entering that occured at Holgate Implement Sales Wednesday at 9:55 a.m.

An e-mail scam was reported by a subject at M-063 County Road 12 in Napoleon Township at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday.

- I'm surprised they have internet way out there

Horses were reported to be on the roadway on County Road V near County Road 4A in Liberty Township Wednesday at 11:11 a.m.

A possible domestic dispute was reported in the 600 block of Railroad Street in New Bavaria at 11:56 a.m. Wednesday.

Juveniles were reported to be fighting on Township Road 1D in Liberty Township Wednesday at 2:29 p.m. Juveniles were reported arguing in the area of Cherry and High streets in Liberty Center Wednesday at 5:24 p.m.

A driving complaint was filed on a vehicle driving eastbound on U.S. Route 24 near County Road 19 in Napoleon Township at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies were unable to locate.

Items were reported from a truck parked at 206 N. Henry St. in Malinta at4:59 p.m. Wednesday.

An alarm was reported at 131 Bolley St. in Pleasant Township at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday. A deputy found it was a false alarm and all was okay.
